Heart Stuff for Heart Month

Submitted by ²Ê¿â±¦µäapp Library on

It's February, which in addition to being Black History Month, is also American Heart Month.

While everyone's needs are different, there are many similar ways we can be attentive to our heart health, including understanding our blood pressure and knowing when it's too high or too low, eating more fruits and vegetables, trying to get better sleep, working on how we handle stressful events in our lives, and stopping smoking. .

If you're physically able, another way to improve your heart health is to move more, and you can take advantage of ²Ê¿â±¦µäapp's own walking maps ranging from 1/2 to 3 miles, you can try the Neighborhood Loop, the Old School, The Plaza loops, The Cross-Campus Course, the Newton Shuffle, or The Collins Classic on the Main Campus

The Old School-- 1/2 Mile loop around campus, including the ERC

Come visit the Main Campus Library at the end of the Old School Route to check out some of our books to help you learn more about your mental and emotional health... or maybe just check out

And just for fun, here's a few "heart" books from your Orange County Campus Library-- one about your cardiovascular system's star organ, one about your emotional health, and one just for a little escapism.
